The composition proposes, from the very beginning, a breathless and emotionally intense journey, through refined and sophisticated interweavings of spectral transformations and manipulations of string instruments—both synthetic and sampled—primarily articulated around the pitch “E”.

The title presents a composite expression that suggests multiple meanings, including the Italian word stringimi (“hold me tight”), the English word string (referring to string instruments), and Mi, the name of the Italian E musical note.

In StrinGi[Mi] nothing is left to chance. The composition demands attentive listening, as multiple layers and perspectival planes interact within a constant polyphony and spectral counterpoint. A persistent sense of mutation and development can be perceived among all elements, shaping the past, present, and future of the sonic structures. Detail plays a central role, and the listener may easily lose their sense of time. The work was conceived for performance on an acousmonium and large-scale multichannel diffusion systems.

The multiple semantic layers of the title suggest a multifaceted listening approach.

Tremolo and vibrato of string instruments become elements of a continuous motion of pulse and time. A tactus is present—sometimes implicit, at times emerging—making the perception of time tangible: in these moments, the sonic materials guide the listener through an unknown journey, involving them in a dance of fusion and microsound exploration.
